Purpose
The visual detection of tissue or cells, subcellular compartments, and ions within the cell is powerful methodology to identify molecule-structure or physiology-structure relationships. Utilizing probes, such as antibodies or other markers that label tissue or cells allows direct microscopic visualization of the location of the probe and its target, which can be followed over time or visualized for changes from its original location after an intervention is performed. C-TREAT members can utilize human or animal cells or tissue and whole animals that are used for experiments to determine the regulation or consequences of inflammation, nucleic acid repair, or transformation with the various digital imaging modalities. Lowe cost access to the use of the digital imaging equipment to conduct experiments will facilitate usage of the services provided for by the Imaging Core. This Core is designed to provide low cost access to the imaging modalities to facilitate the research of C-TREAT members.
