Internal Advisory Committee
The Internal Advisory Committee will contain the Director, Co-Director, and three Division of Gastroenterology senior faculty members with experience in operating or evaluating Centers, as well as research expertise in the Center's theme of inflammation, repair, and transformation.
The Internal Advisory Committee will function to review, provide feedback, and help coordinate and integrate C-TREAT's Cores and advise the Director and Co-Director as to the Center's productivity and effectiveness of its activities.
The Internal Advisory Board will be used to provide feedback on disputed uses and prioritization of Cores by Members. They will also be used to plan renewal of C-TREAT and/or plan an application for a P30 Digestive Diseases Research Core Center.
The Internal Advisory Board will meet every three to six months. Members of the Internal Advisory Committee will be:

Martin F. Kagnoff, MD |
Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, UCSD Dr. Kagnoff has extensive experience with directing a long standing Program Project grant and currently directs the foundation-funded Wm K Warren Medical Research Center for Celiac Disease. Dr. Kagnoff also has extensive NIH experience in reviewing Centers, Program Projects, and R01 grants through NIH Study Sections. |
Kim E. Barrett, PhD |
Professor of Medicine and Dean, Graduate Studies, UCSD Dr. Barrett has extensive experience with reviewing Center grants and Core operations. She has participated in Program Project grants and has extensive leadership, research, and oversight responsibilities in a variety of roles in addition to her role as Dean. |
Samuel B. Ho, MD |
Professor of Medicine and Chief, Gastroenterology Section of the VA Medical Center San Diego Dr. Ho directed one of four VA Hepatitis C Resource Centers in the United States and thus has experience operating a Center. Dr. Ho has served on several VA Research and Oversight Committees. |
